Cobber’s Life
Is not what it seems.
This little peach cobbler
Is not living the dream.

Baked until golden
All sugared and spiced.
This precious little cobbler
Should be living the life.

Yesterday he was
But a peach on a tree.
Warming his fuzzies
In sunshine and leaves.

Today is quite different
His tree, in the past.
The future looks bleak
He tries to think fast.

A cobbler he is
That much is clear.
He does like the shortbread
It hugs him so near.

But something is missing
To make him complete.
Creamy and cool
That doesn’t compete.

But what is he missing
What could it be?
He hears a commotion
But he can’t quite see.

“What the heck is that”?
Peach cobbler wants to scream.
And his heart bursts with love
As he meets Vanilla Ice Cream.
